I am involved in entering results as ETer (chief electronic timekeeper). I just noticed that next to the tabs manual and FinishLynx there is a for me a new tab excel upload. Since we work with TimeTronics there is for us (yet?) no direct import.

You indicate that the following columns are mandatory  "Event - Bib numbers - Results/performance".

  • What other columns can be added I think for example wind?
  • What is the format in which the data should be filled in:
  • Start number seems pretty clear to me just the number
  • Event should that be exactly the name or the no that is in the results entry manually e.g.: 25892053
  • Results in the case of running numbers it s pretty easy: "min": "sec"."hundredths" or DNS/DIQ/DNF
  • How to deal with multiple attempts in throwing or jumping numbers

Importing wind measurement is indeed not yet supported, but that will become available for the outdoor season.

Three columns are now possible. For each column, there are a few small format requirements:

  • The start number must already exist in the competition on Athletics.app.
  • The section is the name of the event (e.g., "60mH" or "pole vault"). Athletics.app will then automatically try to recognize the event (you can still link it manually during the import should Athletics.app not figure it out).
  • Events can be separated as well by periods, commas and colons (for time). However, distances should be in meters (and not centimeters). The recommended format for time is minutes:seconds.hundredths, but it is not required. Also DNS/DIQ/DNF/NM are recognized automatically.

Multiple attempts at throw or jump numbers cannot be imported directly (yet). It is recommended to import only the column with best attempt.

Multiple attempts doesn't work for running numbers either? If not how are semifinals handled?

Semi-finals should be created as a separate event in Athletics.app. So a semifinal in Athletics.app is not a 2nd attempt, but a 1st attempt at another event.
